Minister of Finance says government is managing to pay back its debts in line with its obligations.
Ms. Mwanakatwe has since assured Zambians and the international community that Zambia does not and will never hide its debt stock.
She was speaking when she and her National Development Planning counterpart Alexander Chiteme paid a courtesy call on Zambia’s ambassador to the United States of America Ngosa Simbyakula and diplomatic staff at the Zambian Embassy in Washington DC.
And Mrs. Mwanakatwe told the trade attaché at the embassy to proactively work with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry to attract investors to Zambia.
And Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme urged the diplomats to fly the Zambian flag high and woo Foreign Direct Investments that will benefit the people.
Mr. Chiteme told the diplomats to familiarize themselves with strategic policy documents that Zambia has in place like the Seventh National Development Plan, the Economic Stabilization and Growth Programme and the Debt Sustainability Strategy and articulate them to the world as they market the country.
Meanwhile Dr. Simbyakula commended Government for spearheading the national development agenda.
